My girlfriend and I were walking through town this afternoon enjoying the spring sunshine and doing a bit of shopping. We often see korean couples wearing the exact same outfits as you do. And today was no exception, however today she actually proposed that we should give it a try.
I explained to her that i thought the idea is kind of cute when restricted to korean-korean couples, but the idea of her and I as a korean-waygook couple wearing identical clothes was well.....absurd!!
Anyone ever done this or witnessed an example of this??
I might actually agree to it just to see the reaction we get around town. I personally think most koreans would find it hilarious.
**Sorry to disappoint anyone who was expecting anything saucy when clicking on this thread.** |

Please go ahead and claim your spot among the noble masses.......I wore a pink tie the other day in a TV commercial, that is about as far as I've gotten....
Looking forward to seeing your "korean" bonding experience.......it's all about image, isn't it?

If people have reached the stage of exchanging bodily fluids, then I see no problem (except misplaced fashion sense) with wearing matching shirts. |

Personally I wouldn't be caught dead in couple clothes. My wife and I don't even have matching wedding rings. Matching anything is just lame lame lame.
If I see you walking around in couple clothes with your Korean girlfriend I'll probably point and laugh. |

I haven't agreed to anything yet!!!!
I think it would be a good laugh. I don't take myself too seriously. I think more than anything she's seeing how far she can push it. If it comes down to the crunch i think she will break long before me. |

I say go for it. You'll look silly, but who gives a 5hit? If it makes your girlfriend happy and you don't mind doing it, who cares? I think it's bollocks when people say guys are "pu55y whipped" if they wear couple clothes. How does that compute?
You're in Korea, you're dating a Korean, so...when in Rome, you know? |

If you have even one iota of dignity then dont do it. You will look utterly ridiculous!
But it would make for a good dual-costume at a theme party... |

Just watch out. The "She's my girlfriend -->" shirts don't look so cute when you separate and end up sitting next to some random ajumma on the subway. |

Remind me never to go out for a beer with you (but you probably don't indulge in such uncivilised behaviour).
You must be a barrel of laughs. |

Honeymoon- we bought matching (well complimentary Red with blue, and blue with red) t-shirts in Amsterdam. "Couple shirts" is the term she used and said all couples in Korea do it. No problem, it made her happy for us to be a matching set for a day. But that was it. Would we do that at home, in our own neighbourhood, among friends? Not a chance. |
