Read it all, it'll be some of the best 5 minutes you have today. If not, you can punch me in the face.

Where do you live? Cool

Boring, ideological, and not well reasoned- other than that, and being spoken at a right wing religious school, rather inspired drivel.

Fortunately, I read quickly, so you only owe me a couple of minutes worth of face punching.

I'm breaking it down into paragraphs..

Paragraph:
1) Thanks Mr. Falwell - so its christian university? Jerry Falwell?? Not sure - Liberty University?
2) Tells students to thank their parents.
3) More graduation stuff and congrats for graduating.
4) His memory of graduating from a Navy Academy
5) Vietnam references tied in with imperialism (was it or wasn't it - they didn't think so)
6) Paragraph on how he was young he thought he was the most intelligent person ever.
7) Now later in life he doesn't feel the same.
8 ) Disagreements among Americans.. security issues.. defending values and interests.
9) Something about loving freedom
10) War in Iraq was right because its part of Americans values and interests.
11) War is bad.
12) Its okay for Americans to disagree with War in Iraq
13) Americans should tolerate each other.
14) We should be united because Islamis extremists are bad.
15) Darfur is mistake of Americans.. it was our responsibility to make sure things are cool there.
16) Rwanda was also our mistake.. all Americans are at fault for that.
17) Muslims like Osama are against us stopping genocides
18 ) All people want to be free.
19) America doesn't really want everyone to eat cornflakes and play baseball.
20) USA isn't perfect but amazing with liberties.
21) some more stuff about freedom
22) more stuff.. something about sacrificing
23) America and its ideals helped the weakness of his own character.
24) into glory from a young age
25) sense of himself
26) lets argue with each other
27) lets be free to argue
28 ) reference to his prisoner-of-war time
29) paragraph about some dude who disagreed politically with McCain but helped Clinton get into office.. its all cool
30) the two moved beyond their grievances and the guy apologized
31) the two worked together
32) the guy died
33) god bless the class of 2006

Tiger Beer and Desultude:

Those are really cool avatars.

As for the McCain speech:

Standard boilerplate. Pretty much what I'd expect to hear from a politician at a convocation.

I want a couple punches for having read this thread.

Thanks for the synopsis, if correct. (Don't like to assume.) And, if correct, "Alas, poor McCain, we loved thee well."

which parts did u like? just curious.

i didn't see much in the speech except the Darfur/Rwanda and Osama being against U.S. intervention in genocide situations - which I've never heard before in any other speech or media outlet.
