China (HK, Shanghai) but haven't figured out the dates but def. end of summer/fall (Chuseok). A weekend NK tour might be doable. Actually this is my first trip outside Korea, except Japan, in 3-years. I don't have much of a travelling spirit usually. Once I do finally get home next year, it's off to Mexico, finally.

Can't wait for my trip up the Queensland coast in July to end up at Port Douglas. Bloody beautiful.

How do you all get so much time off? I have recently been apllying for jobs and it seems like two weeks off is the going rate. Do you take extra time off between contracts?

I've got a month in June:

Two weeks in Turkey (Istanbul, Mugla, Eskisehir, Ankara - will start looking at houses to buy in Mugla)

5 days in Montreal (academic conference; but it's still Montreal!)

10 days in rural western Kentucky (visiting father and sister, renewing driver's license, being bored stupid; Wanja - what's up with Nashville? I fly in and out of there.)

A week in September will be spent (hopefully) in Armenia, visiting friends in Yerevan and hiking in Debed.

Chuseok week in October, it's back to Turkey to finish up buying a house around Mugla.

Month in December yet to be planned.

I get 12 weeks a year in my contract (university job), plus national holidays. It's not the most I've seen on a contract, but there are other benefits to my job so I like it.

I get 5 weeks summer vacation.
I'm headed up the east coast of Australia from Sydney to Cannes. I thought about going to Thailand, Cambodia, etc. but decided the wet season wasn't a good time to go.
I get heaps of vacation because I work at a foreign school. I get 3 weeks at Christmas, 2 weeks spring break, 5 weeks summer, and the regular Korean holidays plus American Thanksgiving. It's a sweet deal if you've got the proper credentials.

Nashville's a great city. i went to school there. you should check it out if you're flying in and out anyway. There's a lot of good music.

I'll be in Honolulu next month.

Bought a ticket for my girlfriend to fly there from Las Vegas as well. Should be a cool vacation.

Might look for sublet for a month in Hawaii - Oahu.

Will also try summercamps later in the summer.. and possibly a return trip to Boracay and Cebu or a new destination - Vladivostok (combined with some of China going around back to Korea by boats?).

I gotta admit.. was talking to the very well-traveled Woland last night.. the dude's been in some cool places like Asmara, Eritrea! Its a city I'd long wanted to go to too.. and had a few conversations about Brazil while out and about.. another place I did go to and loved it.. would love to go there again - probably won't anytime soon though.

If I'm lucky, I can convince the old lady to take a run through the Phils - Cebu or Borcay - or Phuket for a week before I head down to Red-Neckville Queensland.
