what was all that about?
somewhat misleading
I guess you mean if you want to open your own recruiting firm.
You can be a recruiter here on salary ...I am. E7 visa but I could have used the E2 and been technically employed as a teacher.
Being a recuiter is not all fun and big money.......
true
First you can't have a E2 visa and then become a recuiter - you need to have NO visa (just a tourist visa) - after you have become a recruiter you can then apply for an E2 visa - (if you wish to teach on the side) - but the E2 visa has to be applied for after you have already become a registered recruiter -
false
Ok - now to be a registered recruiter -
you just need 3 things - (1) - an office or officetel
(2) - a university degree
(3) - a minimum of 1 (one) Korean employee
false you need a 40 pyeong office space, two full time employees, on full benefits and you will get regular inspections from district office.
After you have ALL 3 - go to your local Gu-cheon office and fill in all the paperwork, pay a fee and register your "recruitment company"....
yeah but the "fee" is US$50 000
if you then find - you just aren't making enough money - you can get a P-T teaching job and apply for an E2 visa (as an additional job)....
Some hints - have a korean friend sign up as an employee - then you don't have to pay him/her much
ummm WTF?
get used to answering the phone at all hours of the day/night/weekend
true
get used to other foreigners (especially Canadians) hating you
yeah but I can't skate so I deserve the resentment
Contact all the recruiting firms mate and ask if they are hiring consultants. Not an easy gig to get and you probably need a few more quals than simply the desire to make money.
Too bloody tough to start up your own firm here. I guess a lot of guys do it illegally here which is fine as this is Korea, but beware of Korean men clad in jump suits...Immigration crack squad. They'll come a knockin'! |

I would not want to be a recruiter on salary - working for a Korean recruitment company - guess - you would always just be an office-worker -. |

I never paid a $50,000 fee (geez - I have lived here more than 6 years - and have NEVER seen a dollar-bill for 6 years - I deal in korean currency?? - and yeah - I can guess you are Aussie - so am I.....

Not so - like I said - I started my own company legally with the help of Korean friends..... |

Become the likeness of this image here and you could be rather prosperous...
Neither David Copperfield nor Harry Houdini in his prime would be able to cast an illusion of honesty around the everyday groveling you'll have to accomplish in order to placate the potential parties sitting before you at the proverbial bargaining table. Reaching a consensus in almost any recruiting negotiation would be nigh on impossible without divulging at least a fib or two. |

You do know that you should be asking this question:
" Where can I go to get the information for myself?" If you do it yourself then you don't have to worry about bad information. |
