I can live without a computer personally (I can go to PC bangs when I want to check email, right?) but will I need a laptop or home computer for teaching, or can I do without one?

Most schools should have a computer whereby you can print out stuff from the internet if you need to supplement your regular school texts. Perhaps only if you're going to be teaching adults and need to prepare your own word-processed worksheets for more specialist classes would you be needing to spend more time on a computer.

Some schools also offer free internet connection in their apartments, so it's great to have a computer in that case. I also use my computer for all my music and video playing. I also enjoy live streaming of BBC and CNN news around the clock, as well as being able to download TV programs to avert homesickness.

If you don't already have a computer, perhaps wait and see if you need one. Then, you could purchase a relatively inexpensive model here.
