|
|
| So I got an email the other day from a teacher I taught with during first my contract in another city. He wanted to know if I was still teaching in my current city and was I interested in doing a private. Some guy he knew really needed someone. I thought well okay maybe. I work at a foreign school so I work days and I could do some in the evenings. Anyway, long story short, turns out that the private would be teaching a class 3 days a week for BCM. I don't really know if I want to do it now. I am especially concerned because I would only be able to do it for a month before I leave for my 5 week summer vacation. I told the people that but I guess I'm a bit paranoid. I just don't want to screw stuff up in the last 3 months of my contract. Any opinions on the situation would be appreciated. Thanks. |

| To teach for BCM means you would be teaching at a second work place. Immi is strict about this. It would take most of a month to arrange to do it legally. It isn't worth the hassle to you. Beside, the point of doing privates is to rake in the big bucks without giving a cut to a middleman. Working for BCM would also mean you won't be doing this. Again, not worth your time and the hassle of arranging it. |

Seriously Ya-Ta-Boy. where do you get your information? It takes five minutes at immigration to get permission for this. One month, who are you kidding. I know from experience, do you? |

Privates... " JUST DO IT "
OR
Privates... "DON'T DO IT " - ( not yelling)
Someone should post a nice thread about the dos and donts about private teaching. Although um sure it can be found somewhere in the database.
But i'll add a bit just to get it started. Here is a tip for the newbies.. if you decide to do a private class, its most likely it will be in someones home.. i.e. in an apartment. my experience when doing privates is to always be polite and show respect to the security guys. Be nice to them and make sure u make it a habit to say hello with a deep bow.
Also when going to a private class try not to act like your lost or u dont know where your going. The security guys will be quick to stop you if you act like your lost in an apt building. I always walk straight in, and say hello and continue with my business..
ahhh.. its 930 am and um tired. maybe um just babbling on..
My last words.. BE CAREFUL, BUT BE SMART! |
