I don't live there but have been there 3 times..

It is smack bang in the middle of the country and has a population of about 200 000(think 20 000 back home)..

It is a country city, with conservative values so if you are after the old Korean life then it could be the spot but if you are after city living it is a long way from anywhere....

Depends what you are after...could be perfect or it could be very boring..

here is the english website for the city

and here is the Korean(some different piccies)

Hello, Sammym!

I hope you're not talking about REI in Andong.
If you are, check out these Web pages before you sign anything:

Hi Sammy,

I've lived in Andong for the past 18 months. Its a nice little city with friendly people with definite character. If you want lots of excitement every night its' probably not the place to be, but with Daegu just around the corner weekends can be as much fun as you would like them to be.

If you have any more questions please feel free to email me.

David

Although we don't have a very big page on it yet, Andong is a great town. I'd move there just for the jjimdak. Great location, too, as you're within a reasonable distance to Seoul, Gangwon-do, the east coast, and Daegu, depending on your particular fancy on any given weekend.
