Hi Folks,
Can you lend me the benefit of your experience?
At a relative's suggestion I have submitted an application or two and posted my resume. Since I have teaching experience and a related master's degree (in child social work) , I am receiving lots of e-mails and have gotten a few late-night phone calls. Can anyone recommend a QUALITY school paying over 2.2 million won? I'm a pretty independent woman, are there schools where that is more accepted?
THANKS,
IrishAmerlteach |

2.2 is not unreasonable if you have the experience and credentials to ask for that.
If so there are numerous options public schools: either through EPIK (might be too late here) or through municipal education offices. International schools, Universities (not the best time of year).
As for being an independent woman and it causing a problem...I don't think that would be an issue unless you have a very different definition of independent. |

With the MA, go for a university position. If you have experience, you shouldn't have a problem. If you don't have Korean and/or university experience, you may have to teach at small rural universities. However, after a year, you'll be free to apply to major schools. Getting the CELTA/DELTA helps if, as in your case, your degree is not Eng. Ed. oriented.
Cheers, and good luck. |
