I should say, how many of you will admit it. In recent light of the "da vinci code" discussions, I see a lot of you just coming out of the woodworks with some pretty crass remarks. So, I figured, "hey, let's see how many people are really racist".
Weird enough, I am not that racist in Korea. However, back in South Florida. Man...give me a capital R. I can't stand certain things that some cultures do (especially my own). Racism can also be a very fine line. The question is, how do you define it? |

No...in general....reading about the upcoming movie has made me see a lot of opinions being floated around. A lot of them are prejudice...so I figured...hmmm...how many people are racist and willing to admit it. How many will not hide behind the "anonymity" and actually admit it. You all want to know me, click on my link below. You will see who I am and what I believe. I don't hide. I have something to say, I say it. I have a problem wtih you, I'll be the first all up in your grill. I won't hide and call you stupid little names and not be willing to back up my words. Call me crazy but I grew up in a society where you man up to what you have to say. You don't hide and cower behind anything or anybody. Anyways, back to the topic. You get "bible thumper" "Christ...blah blah blah...etc.". Frankly, some people on here act like it's a disease of some sort. Just because they don't believe in the lord gives them the right to make fun of those that do?
It's a sad day when someone's defensive side comes out and all you see is name calling. They don't believe in it...fine...respect others as others respect them. You don't see people on this board preaching the gospel to anyone. So why attack those that believe? Shallow, pompus, ignorant, and well...let me stop....those are my opinions of people that sit there and make fun of someone because of what they believe in. Amazing how these are grown adults acting like children..."oh....your stupid...blah....stop it...".
Idiots. |

Umm...
Prejudice has been defined as a preconceived preference without possession of all the facts.
We don't have ALL the facts about ANYTHING. All humans qualify as prejudice, and every preference entails prejudice.
However, we can certainly have general and specific prejudice, which seems to better relate to what you've associated prejudice with.

Umm... well, yeah. Adoption of the Christian ethos entails wanton willful ignorance. In fact, the early church was quite clear that Christianity wasn't for the educated, it was for the ignorant rabble.
Most Christians base their BS (Belief System) on lies and propaganda. How could that not be sad and pathetic?
I once had a bloke tell me that the KJV was proclaimed for its historicity.
Faith and belief create ignorance - by definition - not competence.
But, in answer to your question, I don't see the point in racism. Cultural criticism seems much more pragmatic. But even then, generalizations should never be mistaken as universalizations.

Aiiish. This belongs in another thread, but the early church wasn't shy about evangelizing in Greece, where they readily engaged in philosophical debates, and did quite well. What do you mean about "quite clear"? Are you referring to a specific document? |

It's a fairly well known white power skinhead gang that's been trying to start a turfwar in my hometown. I'm not so interested in posting the full name because they are stalking me online and could find it. So here's an image with the full name.
Recently a couple of them burned down the house of a guy I know from the band les Tabernacles, and I was a little outspoken on the issue. |

Starting with Celsus, around 170CE. It was because of Celsus' stinging polemic against the presbyters that Ambrosius contracted Origen's Contra Celsus.
Try here for some specific references. I've got plenty more that I could provide, should interested researchers desire them.
