Hey-o,
I have a question about official university transcripts.
My University distributes official univeristy transcripts. Envelope is sealed, signed on the seal, and also stamped on the seal.
However, these official transcripts would also include a stamp stating "ISSUED TO STUDENT", as I am the recipient. I am receiving the transcripts in order to Fed Ex out all my documents together, in one shipment.
Would this be accepted?
Would it be wise to send out an additional, university official transcript to my hagwon which doesn't read "ISSUED TO STUDENT"?
Thanks. |

Of course, there is no easy answer to this question, considering the notoriety of the immigration dept. i.e there are no standard procedures.
The easy answer: as long as it conforms to Korean immigration law i.e. signed across the seal, you'll be fine. Anything about 'sent to student' shouldn't be a problem. |

It should be just fine. The only way to have the stamp read otherwise would be to have your Uni send them directly to immigration which is not reasonable or required. |

OK, Do I need to have an actual signature over the seal?
Does it matter who puts their signature over the "SEAL?"
Also, does "SEAL" = where the envelope closes on the back, or does "SEAL" mean your University stamp seal? |

I just sent all of my papers over via Fed Ex from Chicago, and they should be delivered by the end of the day.
My University told me there was no way possible they could put the University Stamp [Stamper] over the seal. i.e., it was a student work-study employee who didn't know what they were doing.
I just had her sign her name on the seal and I found a Time Stamper in one of the libraries. I time stamped it myself, and it looks official enough for me.
When in doubt, more stamps the better. Bureaucrats love them stamps.
Oh yeah, "SEAL" means the back of the envelope.
Neat? Neat. |

Does it need to be a pen signature, or can it be a non-signature stamp of a persons name over the seal?
Can the signature just belong to anyone, or does it have to match the signature on the transcripts?
I hate to get on the details, but better than getting stuck out there with nothin. |

Hey-o,
To be frank, I'm really not sure. I don't think anyone really has the correct, absolute 100% answer either. If they do, hopefully they'll post to this thread.
For mine, I had the work study girl sign her name across the seal of the envelope. Then I just found a 'time stamper' with my Uni logo on it and stamped away.
I'll let you know if these don't pan out though. Feel free to PM me. |
