The Red Cross are parked in my school playground at the moment hoping to get the students to volunteer to donate blood.

I find this quite strange.

Are they that desperate???

We had blood drives when I was in high school. I think it's just one of those things you have to keep replinishing. Most people just don't go in and volunteer to donate blood.

We had the blood bus come around last year. Yes, I thought it was strange. I wonder if it's optional? When I was there it looked like a whole class was going in.

Well, I can't give blood because I am under the required weight. And...I hate blood and needles.

Ah I see. I don't think they do that at secondary schools in the UK. Well, not that I recall I have always been a blood donor.
One of the Korean teachers aske dif I was going to donate, but I heard they don't accept blood from foreigners.
