Stay away from Boggle's World for a while at bogglesworld.com. The Domain has been stolen by a porn company. We are fighting to get it back. The site has been moved to a new domain for the time being:

Note the added 'esl'.

I've been talking to Chris Gunn the main guy all day. He's crushed of course. He just dropped a $2000.00 retainer in legal fees to hire a good firm that specializes in this kind of stuff. Hopefully, he'll get it sorted out.

One thing that teachers can do to help him is just let other teachers know what has happened and be patient. The porn is in no way related to Boggle's World. But STAY AWAY from the site for the time being, why give the pirates your traffic?

For my part I'm just trying to get online and do damage control.

This is worse than a hack. A hack can be fixed by uploading a bcakup and fixing a security hole, but somebody else has actually gained ownership of the domain name through illegal (but hard to prove) means. If he can't get the name back then that's probably it for Boggle's World (at least under that name).

That is really strange I just went to bogglesworld.com and it seemed to be up and running for me.

Did they clear it up already or is it another website you are talking about?

When a DNS name server is changed, it takes time to proliferate through the internet. So you are getting connected to a cached version somewhere in the network (so print all the worksheets that you think you are going to need and do it quickly before your connection figures out that it's been changed to the porn site!)

I believe the problem has not been resolved yet.

However, Chris has all of the files, so if worse comes to worse, he says he will upload them to a different domain name in the weeks to follow.

Wow! I can't believe this news is true. Must have just happened. I used that site last week and it was fine.

As anyone else in this forum seen the porn site? I'm too afraid to check this out at work for fear of my co-workers misunderstanding what I am doing. Smile
