If they won the cup, I'd almost consider flying home (from Vancouver) for the party. I was just a kid the last time they won the cup and so while it was exciting, it would be a lot more fun now.

It's a hockey expression Grotto.

It means that the team will win the first three games easily and demoralize the opposition, basically winning the series before the fourth game starts; statistically the series is over after a 3-0 record.

Just finished watching the game....the Oil didn't really play that great but neither did Anaheim. Roloson held 'em in there in the third when they were only up 2-1. Harvey got an empty-netter at the end to put it away.

I now predict Oilers in 6!

Edmonton just won again! That's a sweep for them on the road....over in 5 is my new prediction. Roloson is unbeatable.

Edmonton is now up 3 zip after winning again5-4 today.
It was an incredibly entertaining game with a couple of good fights, a lot of exciting plays and until the 3rd period when 8 goals were scored, some great goaltending. I almost stopped watching when Edmonton went up 4-0 in the 3rd then the Ducks scored 3 in a row.
It looks like picking up Chris Pronger was a smart move.
The Oilers have been adopted by all of Canada now but getting by the winner of the East is going to be tough.

I think most people in Canada have always liked the Oilers for a while because of the good 'ole Gretzky days.

I will also be the first to admit that when Calgary went through a couple of years ago, I just right on the bandwagon and in reality I don't really give a hoot about them, but seeing as they were a good Canadian team I cheered for them.

However, I have always liked the Oilers and am really rooting for them this year, as I usually do. They always squeek in there at #8. I really hope that they pull through and beat the crap out of Buffalo or Carolina, or even Buffalo and Carolina combined, I don't even care.

Consequently, Edmonton is running out of beer.

Looks like? Understatement. Conn Smythe candidate.

Getting Roloson and Peca has been key too.

And the addition of Samsonov is unheralded, often in position defensively and great at moving the puck, has created some scoring plays and diffused some problem situations. Very underhyped previous Calder trophy winner (due in part to his few injury-plagued seasons).

I always used to cheer for the Oilers (they were my second favourite team infact).. However, they signed two of my least favourite players in the league (Pronger and Peca).. and then those bastards had to go beat my Wings... I'm not too happy with them right now..

Pronger and Peca are pricks who don't deserve to win shit.

Buffalo and Edmonton both deserve to get to the finals though as both cities truly appreciate their teams and are legit hockey towns...

Shocked Pronger and Peca are two of my favs!!! But I've always detested the Red Wings (except for Stevie Y), so I guess you and I are just on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Hope at least we both can't stand Tucker.

Hatred for Pronger came from the days when I used to go to a lot of games and the Detroit-St.Louis divisional rivalry was strong.. the guy was a dick, a cheap shot artist and always had a rep for choking in the playoffs... *beep* him

Besides the fact that Peca always looked like a frail bum-master to me.. the hatred for him comes from his attitude for always over-estimating his worth and complaining about it to the world behind his coaches and teammates back...

We do agree on Tucker however... truth be told Chelios and Roenick were the two players I hated the most from the Blackhawk rivalry days... Chelios I can obviously tolerate, and that's because Chicago has totally rejected him despite his greatness there...
