Hello, all! First time poster here...

Wondering if any of the married posters on this forum get together from time to time...If anyone is interested in meeting up in or around the Seoul area for some outdoor BBQ, I'd like to hear from you.

Being married and having friends is really tricky. It's about 4 times as hard as having regular friends.

You meet someone you get along with. Then you have to get to know his wife and introduce your husband. He's got to like your husband and you've got to like his wife, and vice versa. On top of that, there can be no sexual tension whatsoever.

It's tough. It's cool to have other couples to hang out with though. It's tricky to hang out in threes sometimes, depending on whether the singleton is lonely or content.

Having a Korean wife is even tougher, because when you put three Anglophones together, they'll talk at a rate that's tough for a non-native speaker to follow.

Well said, Kermo...I'm new to these forums, but not to Korea. Most of my married friends have now left. It IS hard to make new friends in Korea, particularly when you're busy.

I was only wondering if any of the married guys on this forum already meet up and have relationships...Just looking to meet up with more people who have things in common...

Im a married guy, and I will be living in Korea from July. I know only my wifes friends there, so it would be cool to meet up with other married couples.

Guess it all comes down to age too. People our age (26 and 24) tend not to be married, so its always the two of us and a bunch of single people. Can still be fun, but you feel more at ease with other couples, married or not. Suddenly you prefer the relaxing meals with good drink and chat, to drunken nights at clubs and bars.

To the guy who mentioned sexual tension, why is that so bad? I mean, its nice to discuss stuff with people in the same situation as you. And a bit of sexual tension just makes for interesting conversation. If your not the overly jealous type that is. I think the only time there is no sexual tension is when the other people are downright ugly or smelly. Razz
