'Da Vinci' Has 2nd-Biggest World Opening
I enjoyed how in one of the 1st opening segments Langdon was giving his lecture in Paris on symbols & semiotics.
Remember the SWASTIKA?
Quite glad Ron Howard opted to include this powerful ancient & widepread symbol
Tom Cruise is ... at times quite mentally disturbed ...
I'm boycotting MI3. IN fact never even bothered to "vote" for either of the 1st movies in the series.

| Cruise is certainly a prize knob off screen, but the MI series so far has been cutting edge action writ large. I'll def see number 3... |

the code is a serious movie, and I think everyone will see it in a different light! religious or not, believer or not! history has secrets and lies!
all depends on what you think is possible in our past!
entertainment wise! not a bad thriller.
I mean this movie had blockbuster written all over it before it was even made! as I said, the movie, book, story is too controversial so everyone will have a mixed opinion..
I thought the ending was a little dramatic.
felt the film could have been more darker, more rich in depth of the story.
over all not a bad movie..
mission impossible 3... saw that too.. I felt was the worst of the 3..

I read the book and saw the movie. Now, allow me to say this:
I understand what the critics meant by "laughing during a pivital point". Guys...it wasn't bad at all. I definitely don't feel like I wasted 7,000WON. Frankly, I enjoyed it.
One last comment. I agree (as stated in a previous post) with most of the people out there regarding this movie:
"Oh yee of little faith...The Lord tests us everyday. Whether with money, lust, greed, you name it, it surrounds us like air. If a movie is strong enough to waiver you, then your faith in The Lord was never solid to begin with".... |
Well, it is a Ron Howard movie (very little snob appeal). As most of his movies, it was big and flashy, almost gaudily so, but entertaining nonetheless. It certainly wasn't the worst movie I've seen lately. Makes me question the motives of the movie critics for being overzealous about it. |

Yes exactly. Take that BBC pr1ck in the link I posted above. There's just no need to be that scathing about a movie, unless the author feels threatened by it in some way. |

Precisely. Perhaps the Critics of the Knights Templar have been preparing for this film for the last 2,000 years? |

Nah, but movie critics do tend to be lemmings. |

This film is absolutely *beep*. Even the fact that it winds up fundamentalist christians doesn't make up for its sh1tness, I'm afraid.
The acting was embarrassing to watch, the music was *beep*, it completely failed the book's fast moving plot, and it was just *beep*.
AND he didn't even get off with her at the end. *beep*.
If you want to watch a film about people searching for the holy grail, you're better off with Indiana fcuking Jones and the Last Crusade. Seriously.

In amongst all the funny, there are some actual truths here:
SPOILERS, MAYBE

The music really did bring an awful lot of attention to itself. I remember it was all I was thinking about during the final scene.

But they sure took their time suggesting that they'd like to. Why is it always assumed every man and woman who have a dramatic experience together a gonna wanna bump uglies? It was annoying that they had to make us think about it, anyway.

Indeed. My biggest beef with this film is not its low-brow content. I can deal. It's with it setting itself up as a race thriller, with bad guys out to kill/harm the protagonist(s), and then pulling the freaking legs out of the whole film by having all the bad guys (particularly the scary ones) taken out - and then continuing the rest of the boring plot for ANOTHER 30 MINUTES!
It was only interesting because people were trying to kill them!

Yeah, that whole thing was quite gay. But that Akiva Goldsmith, who also wrote A Beautiful Mind, is a total hack so what can you expect? |
