While I am at it and up and posting and full of consciousness......
I just finished watching 60 minutes, the good - bye to Mike Wallace.
Thank God for him and let America follow him as an icon and model. One more Jew to the pantheon. Tell it like it is, inquiry, criticism and THE TRUTH as what is important. A vibrant, active, truth seeking, shit detecting mind.....be it America, Israel, Russia, China or Nowhere, Idaho..... Took the death of his son to make him tell it like it is and hopefully through his example, we can follow without so much pain pushing.....
He is all America should be and which I know is latent therein and under the frozen crust of the present America. To say what the common person wants to ask, to say it without pretense and to be proud of being 'with the truth...in search of the truth...". I hope America wakes up its proud journalistic tradition and which has kept it on an even keel, I hope Mike Wallace is passing the torch to those who will run. I believe so....
And then there is that other Jew, Rooney....My only regret is that Saul Bellow or Norman Mailer weren't here to celebrate and shed the gift of gab and truth on Wallace's legacy.....

What evidence do you have that Andy Rooney is Jewish? Wikipedia lists him as an Irish-American. |

Here is a big hint for you. You have nothing original to say about America. You simply repeat the latest catch-phrases as read in the pages of the Guardian or Z-Net. No proof. I was being poetic.................and metaphorical. Of course he isn't Jewish but of the same spirit, mindset -- cutting, to the point, incisive.

like your comments except for the jewish references, why do you have to bring up that, it has no relevance
wallace is the best at what he did and there is nobody who is even close to his level today

Very balanced..................you guys just don't get erudition or the sublime...............
I was talking up the Jewish part because of our cultural trait of not putting up with B.S. and having the wit, to wit.......
I agree, maybe given some sensitivities I shouldn't have said anything about the "Jewishness" but it was something Wallace agreed with and mentioned often, the Jewish American sensibility. Plus, I am a member of the club......but if I had to do it again, I'd leave out the reference given the reading level of "some' posters....
