i know symmetry equates beauty which is becoming synonymous with success in our globalized and commodified culture... as such i am considering something that might enhance my facial symmetry... i don't know what sorts of procedures exist but i think it may be worth looking into...
i had a student once who was a consultant for a plastic surgery clinic who told me that many foreigners frequented her clinic for nose reduction... so, fess up, who has had a nose job? |

the only reason cosmetic surgery is acceptable is for medical reasons.
getting a nip and tuck or a face lift or whatever because you're getting old is just ridiculous. I generally mock people who have had cosmetic surgery. |

outside of having 3rd degree burns, or the like, i'd never get plastic surgery anywhere. just remember 2 words. Michael Jackson. enough said. |

When I am in the States I stay in South Florida. Some places seem like you have to have had plastic surgery to even drive through. Most women over a certain age, and a lot of men, too, get face lifts and big puffy lips. They not only look bad, they look the same!
If a woman as rich as Donatela Versace ends up like this, I wouldn't trust my face to a plastic surgeon.
And here is her twin sister, Cher:

all the "guys" on the board talk about how hot the korean women are. how much you love how they look. ad nauseum... did you ever think that women might want to change something for ourselves? not for some man?
i usually let the comments go. this time i'm taking the rant.
it's ok to wear knee highs so you look like a schoolgirl and short (read tiny) skirts, weigh 20 pounds less than a celery stick and bow to your every whim, desire or thought? sure you also think the plastic boobs are sexy. but if a woman says something about a little plastic surgery any area other than on her chest you make rude comments? please!
Chaz, if you do find some useful info please pm. |

I don't really like my nose. I've thought briefly, occasionally about getting something done with it but then I always remember the surgery part of cosmetic surgery. To go under anesthaesia and get cut open for purely cosmetic reasons, just not good risk-benefit analysis in my opinion. |

i never said a word about how korean women look. imho, i think some are attractive and some aren't. and honestly, if any kind of women, being brown, yellow, white, black, etc... is too thin, i honestly find that very unappealing. also, pretty much anything fake on a woman to me is quite unattractive. |

After reading this thread, I thought about getting my gigantic nose reduced. Then, I told my Korean co-teacher about it and she thought I was crazy. She told me that many Korean men are getting surgery to have their noses enlarged like mine. Strange world indeed. |

Robin Williams has some hilarious stuff about cosmetic surgery in his stand up routine "Robin Williams Live on Broadway".
From observing celebs through the years I reckon facial gardening hardly every makes people look better and very often makes them look a whole heap worse. |

never ever ever. not anywhere and CERTAINLY not here.....i dont trust koreans to cut my hair much less my face or body.
plus, i find facial surgery, especially of the eyes, strange and pathetic. all the men and women on ads here look like caricatures of themselves and they're going to look like a bunch of double-eyelidded freaks in about ten years when they lose more facial fat. but then again, i like my face....i would probably be singing a different tune if i had beady eyes, a big nose, and thin lips. |

I was thinking of getting a dolphinoplasty. I've always felt like I should have been a dolphin.
