I know of two in Itaewon. One above the Burger King which is an overall beauty parlour kinda place. They do hair and other things as well, I also believe they have the spray tan facility.
There's also one behind the Hamilton Hotel. That's dedicated to tanning. No sprays as far as I'm aware.
I've not been to either yet but I've been told its approx. 100,000W for 10 sessions - I'm unsure of how long the sessions are, but I'd hope around 10 minutes at that price. |

Oh, I'm with you on the tanning bed thing. I really need some colour. Anyone know of any tanning places around the Ansan area. I know its probably a long shot, but I can't really justify an hour on the subway into Itaewon for a 15min tanning session. |

I have gone to both tanning places in Itewan.
The first is in Pro Nails, behind the Hamilton, and it was a complete waste of money. They charge 10 bucks a pop and their bulbs are so old, you are freezing throughout the whole session.
The second place is Green Turtle, whose new tanning beds are also behind the hamilton at the Green Turtle massage place. They have 3 beds and you can get a bit of color, but I would expect to be dissapointed. I don't think they realize the bulbs should be replaced in order to still do the trick.
Good luck! |

I'm not sure of the name of the place I went to, but it was one of those. The one with the nice setup, wooden floors, etc. Anyway, I was swimming in sweat after a 10-minute session. This was about 8 months ago, though. |

Be forewarned: many places will NOT accept males.
This may or may not have something to do with the 'cameras in the tanning booths' sites all over Korean porn portals . . . >.<
The only place I know/can vouch for, for men AND equipment (bulb replacement) is USA nails in Song-tan, down Pyoungtaek/Osan way.
best of luck - a nice base is good before hitting the beaches on vacation . . .

Near Itaewon, Jenny's phone shop has a stand up tanning booth.
I have seen foreigners going in to use it, but I haven't seen the end result nor tried it myself, so I can't say if it is good or not.
If you fancy trying it is near Chili Chilis. The nearest subway is Noksapyeong.

there's one up kyun lee dong(sp?) hill, but i've never tried it
i have tried jenny's
it's okay, but it's a stand up one for about 25-30 minutes. that's quite a long time to stand (for me) and the quality wasnt that great. i tanned, but it seemed like a really abrassive maybe really bad for my skin type of tan (i know they arent great anyway, but this one just seemed a little worse)
i've also tried a bed in gunja that was okay...decent price and it worked, but no fans=really hot
i love magic tan (even though it's way overpriced and the prices went up)...nice place, nice people, nice lotion, nice music and fans
there's also a place right down the street from magic tan in apgu that i may try next
i'll give directions to any if needed |

Never had a spray tan here but I had a couple of occasions where I had to back home.
The one time I wouldn't recommend it is if you perspire a lot. You'll find that over the week remnants of your 'tan' are left on your collar and other items of clothing. The creases in your fingers can be a hassle to deal with, and I always think it looks foolish when it fades. |

Wait a minute... are you.. saying that... using tanning beds can increase one's risk of skin cancer??
Not tasteless, just brainless. Thanks for the heads up Corporal. |
