It's actually pilsung Korea. It means victory Korea.

When I read your title I thought this was going to be some Korea bashing topic.

You got that right. Korea might go the entire tournament without scoring a goal.

Heh heh- I thought the same. Then I thought it could be about rain...

Anyway, when I first heard that song back in 2001, I thought it was pi-san Corea, or "expensive Korea." ^^

That's funny. I kept seeing pictures of D ick Advocaat, mostly for some kind of credit card and thought he was some sort of financial lawyer that was popular in Korea. (French for lawyer is "avocat".) I couldn't figure out why a gruff looking white lawyer guy was such a super star...

Only recently have I clued in he's the latest gruff European coaching the Korean soccer team.

I'm so unhip it's a wonder my pants stay up.

I've been waking up to this song every morning at 7:00, blasting out of one of those mini-trucks, ever since the election campaigning has gone full swing. Some candidates are really riding the World Cup fever train and one even promises to build a specialized soccer high school here.
