I'm embarrassed, I used to rock in geography. I could tell you the soviet republics, their capitals and the rivers that flowed through them. Oh, those were the days. Now there's 50 more countries in europe, though that's no excuse for my mark on the US.

I almost rocked asia, mixed up turmenistan and tajikistan, made the same clicking mistake with brunei. Stupid small countries.

US-98/150. Ouch. Oh well, I'm not american, I can be forgiven, right?
Europe-98/111. Stupid self-determined independent states.
Asia-81/87

I will try the other ones later, I am sure I won't do as well on the Africa one, but I should get the middle-east one perfect.

Actually, after I did the first US Quiz, I did this one, too:

That was fun. Positioning Arkansas perfectly on the first turn was too much for me, same with Idaho.

I got:-

46 perfect out of 50 turns.

92%, Avg Error 20 miles, 274 secs.

Okay, if we're going to post our excuses, I took those quizes on prescription (codeine) nighttime cough syrup.
I'm still awake, though. Mad

First of all, can you get me some of that, too? Was it obtained in Korea?

Secondly, can you tell me if everyone on here has awesome geography knowledge, or is it that only the people who had good scores posted them?

Q.

As an experienced gambler who can usually tell when people are bluffing, I can state with confidence that most of you are inflating your scores ... You figure that no one can find out, eh? ... (Ha! Rolling Eyes )

BTW, I got an almost perfect score... Wink

I used to know all the States. What happened in the last 13 years? I haven't looked at a US map in ages, but I figured it was all still there. Sad I'd swear Idaho has moved...
93/150

I was looking at a map of Europe today, so it's going to be really pitiful if I don't do fairly well. I'll admit though I was surprised that Latvia was so far North... I had always imagined it was much closer to Serbia. Oh, and congratulations Montenegro on regaining independence!
Uh oh.. Moldovia? You're kidding me, right? Embarassed I don't know how many times I clicked on that damnable country.

Anyone feel sort of old when taking the quiz? I kept realizing how many changes happened to the world since my 6th grade class.

I lived in Incheon when it was still called Inch'on, visited Germany when it was still 2 countries, Czech when it still had Slovakia, and the West Bank when it was practically a part of Israel and not governed by a Palestinian Authority (and I use the term 'governed' in the loosest sense possible).

I imagine someone like Rapier will have seen most of the African continent change.

Gone also are the good old days when the strength of your painkiller depended on how good your bargaining skills with your local Korean pharmacist were... I swear, I could get horse tranquilizers for a hangnail!

I usually have better geography skills than anyone I know (in the real world; sounds like bragging, but that's just the way it is, I think I've always ben a bit geeky on geo) so IMO the level of Geography knowledge displayed in this thread is truly awesome.

But if well-travelled uni degree holding expat teachers aren't good at geo, who is?
