Hi
Does anyone have any info on Ichon pottery village? Especially how to get there? (from the subway stop, preferably)
So far all the information I can find seems to be from 2 year old tours.
Thanks

I went there last year. I lived right near Dong Seoul bus terminal and so took a bus from there. We stopped at the terminal in Ichon and then caught a cab to the pottery area. Apparently the ceramic village is 이천도예촌. You can probably catch a bus though-I don't remember but I imagine we caught a bus back into Ichon proper. The bus cost ~5,000. There's also those big hotel 'hot springs'/saunas there if that sort of thing interests you.

I live in Ichon and admit that I haven't yet been to the pottery village! However you should know unfortunately there is no subway station in Ichon! (How I wish I had realised that before coming here). Anyway there is an express bus service from Gangnam (one hour) to the terminal in the centre of Ichon.

I went there from Cheonan one time. Took a bus to Icheon. Then I took a local bus to the village from the Icheon Bus Terminal. Pretty nice place but overall, I'm not sure it's really worth the trip. You'll find similar stuff in Seoul at Namdaemun or Itaweon (although I'm not sure if the quality is comparable or not).

There is one restaurant in Ichon, in the pottery area, that was really good (I especially enjoyed their 만두국). It was a few years ago, so I don't remember the name, but it was a few doors up an alley that ran next to a large parking lot (a lot of the pottery stores were in that area, too). The restaurant was run by a Harley-Davidson owner; he looked the part and had H-D memorabilia all over the place. Really nice fellow; he sat down with me and my family to show us his photo album. The following year, I brought him a H-D calendar from the States.
