When the game starts you can see each others teams. Why not post your sides up here in advance?

Yes, thanks for doing this. Should be fun ... and free! I've done the one from the Sun with some mates, but it's a tenner for 2 teams.

Any comments on this squad?

With 2 players from each team, I didn't want to focus all my hopes on Brazil's strikers. Brazil is strong but they thread the ball around so who know who would be hot or not. Ronaldo's getting old, I might go for Ronaldihno but Brazil has so many scorers it's hard to tell.

I tried to go with mostly work horses.

GKP
1. CZH, Cech; NED Van der Sar

DEF
2. USA Onyewu,
3. SPA Puyol; ARG Ayala
4. PAR, Gamarra; KSA Al Qadi

MID
5. CZE Nedved; ENG BECKHAM, David
6. FRA Zidane
7. BRA Ronaldinho
8. ITA, Totti

FWD
9. SPA Torres
10. POR Pauletta
11. ENG Crouch

OK here are my donkeys to the slaughter:

Gk - Lehmann (ger) - mad as a hatter but german always strong at the back. ---reserve- Van der Sar

Def -
Van bronckhorst (ned) - I feel the Dutch will do very well this year. Giovanni gives me a workhorse that can play many positions.
Friedrich (ger) - german defence again plus as a fullback should get some assists touch wood.
Carlos(bra) - old as the hills but in for nostalgia reasons
Terry (eng) - had to pick and English defender could not pick any of the others due to: ferdinand will forget to catch the plane, campbell will get to the stadium, see all those people and runaway crying, a. cole will pull his hamstring tieing his bootlace and neville is a *beep*.

Mid:
Riquelme (arg) - Midfield playmaking master
Ronaldinho (bra) - midfield maestro plus he gives hope to the parents of ugly kids, if the kids can kick a ball they can date models when they grow up.
J.Cole (eng) - Have a feeling he will shine brightly this world cup. With Englands lack of credible strikers I believe he will play just off of crouch and get a few goals. Wil be the star of the cup imho.

Forwards:
Pauletta (por) - Usually the lone striker for portugal, who are in an easy group, so should get a few.
Torres (esp) - Great young player could be the star of the world cup, on the other hand may pull an "henry" and choke like a cat on a furball on the international stage.
Henry (fra) - The time is right for Mr Henry to step up and show his class on an international level, but no doubt will choke as is the norm. I wanted schevchenko but he is doubtful to play due to injury, also wanted the young german poldanki, or something like that, but already had 2 germans.

Reserves: van der sar (ned), Zambrotta (italy), Deco (por) and Xavi (esp).

Great minds think alike jinju ... we've got some of the same players * edit *and edgell ... I was typing at the same time obviously. Is everyone going to have Riquelme and Ronaldinho in the midfield?

D - Terry (ENG)
D - Cannavaro (ITA)
D - Puyol (ESP)

M - Ballack (GER)
M - Riquelme (ARG)
M - Ronaldinho (BRA) (Captain)

F - Adriano (BRA)
F - Henry (FRA)
F - Van Nistelrooy (NED)

Subs:
K - Van der Sar (NED)

D - Gallas (FRA)
M - Gerrard (ENG)
M - Deco (POR)

I have joined just now but haven't even thought about the players yet!

Could this be Gerrard's World Cup?
