I like American Chopper. But I noticed that, last episode, the father-son bullying theme was gone. Or just the grumpy boss thing in general. There was a whiz kid doing most of the work on a bike and the head honcho was treating him with mucho respect and interested in his ideas and gently guiding his progress. Gone was the 'watch out for Dad he's ready to rumble' tension. Like it has become PC and exemplary 'good parenting' and 'good employer-employee relationships'.
The grumpy boss thing was carnival, man.

There was an excellent archaeology docu on about a mound city in Turkey from the New Stone Age/Neolithic. The only such thing I've seen on tv otherwise was Japanese TV (and it was Japanese)/NKK broadcasting production.

But there was this stupid thing on Discovery channel recently where a crime (murder) is re-enacted as the investigation unfolds. Low budget and just stupid looking. Crime shows seem to be all the rage on other networks (C.S.I., Law and Order). That show Law and Order is excellent.

By the way, the only time I've seen Discovery channel is in motels that have happened to have it. I'd love to get it. Is it with some cable package you guys are getting?

You get Discovery Channel on SkyLife. It's one of my fave channels. I like Mythbusters, I Shouldn't Be Alive and American Chopper is okay. They show the occasional good doc or nature program.

I hate when they tease me with promo stuff from Discovery Travel & Living. I wish I got that channel.

Discovery Channel has dumbed down a lot in recent years. It's going for the broad appeal now.

Hence, Pimp My Ride, American Chopper, Making Model Lions and Bears To See Who Would Win A Fight, Big Choppers, Pimp My FBI Investigation, Bigger Pimped Choppers......

There's hardly ever a good Science, nature or history doc anymore.

seriously! every time i tune in these days it's some stupid "mega moves" or some dumb show. just gimme a basic animal or history documentary! i'd rather watch lions in africa over and over than some farmer in saskatchewan moving his silo!

Amen Sister.
only have natl geographic. discovery in english would be amazing. just when you think a going to be "good Science, nature or history doc" , they change from english to korean. teasers. although i must admit sometime i watch with the sound turned down really low. watching tv with no sound is somehow wrong.

Have you guys seen "The future is Wild"??? That show is pretty cool, although the names they give the new animals are pretty preposterous.
FLISH???

I agree with the suckiness of Megabuilders or World's largest tractor docs. I like the CGI dinosaur stuff the best.

Right on! I have been watching with the volume turned all the way down for the last month until something interesting appears. Anything to avoid getting one of those commercials stuck in my head.
