I've taught this group of 5-8 women for many months. I was wondering if anyone could give advice on what do with them in the future.
All but 1 are golfers in the Seoul area. I have already taught them golfing phrases. |

Cooking assignment which they have to bring into class
Discussing family photos
Song lyric sing along and discussion
Poetry or short reading text
Comparison of Western and Korean fashion through magazines
Cosmetic surgery (seriously)
Powerpoint presentation on a place they have travelled to
Comparison of international charity organizations
Grammar - Rules of the home
Professional women case studies
Mini drama roleplays - you could compare Western TV dramas to Kdramas; students could even try to translate some Kdrama scripts into English
Organize a picnic outing to a place of historical interest - excl. Dokdo
Discussion of why so many ajummas are working in Kimbap Chunguk!

| That was my favourite class at my hagwon, and not because there were a couple of milf's either. Just print a conversation list and get to it if their level is high enough. If not, then it's hard work, but if you can get them talking, it's fun and can be pretty interesting. I use to bring in my guitar and sing a few songs as well. |

Ha! Milfs. I like them. Don't like teaching them English though. |

| Hotpants gave some good advice. But, I would like to know the story about why they work at Kimbap chunbuk? I could venture a guess but I'll try to get the story before I put it on the table for discussion. |

Sorry you don't like Ajumma's. My Ajumma's somewhat helped me in the past by going to civil court and interpreting the judge's final decision. However, since then the case has been appealed.
4 of them went and stood in the back row. The Judge didn't know what to think since I had fired the court appointed interpreter prior to the court date and there wasn't anyone standing next to me as he read the decision.
It was quite an experience for them I do believe. We walked out of the court room together and they told me what was said. The Bailiff walked out and told us to leave and shut-up.
Case began 11/2004, ended 01/2006 and I still haven't received an appeal date. I suppose if I had lost and appealled, the case would have received a court date by now. Since my former KOREAN hagwon owners owe me $6,000(according to the first judge's decision) the court don't care much whether the WAYGUKIN gets final justice.
I think the court ain't much different than the hagwon owner. The hagwon owner expected me to go home and forget about it. What do you suppose the court is waiting for? |
