| I don't know about volunteering to teach English, but this is the best thread ever. I just hope we're not scaring the op. |

Your post is just fine.
The reading ability of most teachers who frequent this board tends to drop off rapidly as the day progresses.
The elementary school behind your house is looking for a volunteer for their
Step and jump orogram and the orphanage down the street is also looking for an English speaking volunteer.
Have fun.

To elynnor: Put your head back in your soju bottle. You obviously can't read and your writing is even worse. re: your first comment shows that you didn't read the 2nd post in this thread and your last post is even worse. He doesn't have a visa. He is a Canadian, and with a 6 month (his words) limit, that would make it a B2 (visa waiver stamp).
Pixx off. Twits like you give real people a bad name and the information you dole out borders on DANGEROUS.

No, it's just that most people only skim the posts here. You've probably got the f-4 visa (for ethnic Koreans who aren't k-citizens) meaning you can tutor or whatever, no problem.
If you wanted to work at a public school, maybe you could offer to coach a sports team, or help with an afterschool program. I think the regular classes are pretty structured, and there's usually a Korean teacher and Native teacher in the English classes already, so they dont need volunteers. If you're planning to go to university in the west, volunteering at an orphanage might look better on the applications anyway. |
