Its not lik Ruth was a nice guy either. I dont care about athletes' personalities. If he passed Ruth then he passed Ruth. Although Babe didnt exactly have a multi million dollar steroids lab giving him the latest roids. Thats something to consider.

Well, lets wait 50 years and see. But to me, ofcourse Bonds isnt what Babe was. I think when Babe was hitting his homers he was getting soemthing like twice as many homers than the next guy. The margin over other homer hitters was huge. The league was also smaller so you had less crappy pitchers to hit against. Again, no roids.

Something that Koreans will be sure to remember just like their new hero Hines Ward.

that's not saying much. kim byung hyun was the same guy who also nearly blew the world series for the diamondbacks back in 2001. gave up the game winning home runs in games 4 and 5. then again, at least he'll be remembered for something. Twisted Evil

The real question is when will Albert Pujols pass Bonds. I think there's a good chance he will break the single season record this year.

As somone who lived in Chicago through the early 90s and has visited there regularly since then, I think it is kind of sad that the offensive accomplishments of Frank Thomas have been obscured by the whole steroid gang. I used to go to Comiskey just to see what might happen with him and got to see some monster homeruns. He doesn't help himself by being a difficult person, but he may have been the real Ted Williams of the decade - the best pure hitter.

Gees. He's having a monster season. Still, it'll be tough to beat 73.

Frank's greatest downfall is his own injuries. You expect a DH to have more than a 10 year career (okay, he's been around longer, but only as a shell of his former self). Too bad, he was incredible. I lived in Chicago from 88-05, and even though I'm a Royals fan, Frank always amazed me. Thought for sure he was a HOF shoe-in. Now, I'd say his chances are slim to none.

I think Frank Thomas is a great example of a humble superstar. I hope he does get into the hall. I think he has a good chance.

2166 hits (168 th all time)
457 HR (27th all time)
305 BA (94th all time)
1490 RBI (46th all time)

Although now that I look at it, maybe a slim chance.

Cheat, cheat, cheat. Lie, Lie, Lie. Blame others, blame others, blame others.
Temper, Temper, Temper. BS, BS, BS. Yes, Bonds will have a legacy. I just history treats this incredible rectal orifice for what he has become. But, then again, Bonds is a symptom of America: Get what you can, while you can, make the rules along the way, and hope you don't get caught. That being said, I can't think of another person I find as totally repugnant as Barry Bonds. Cheers.
