I was just wondering if anybody could give me a broad overview of what its like teaching and living in Korea. Any warnings of things that I should be aware of, schools and otherwise, would be appreciated. Also, how much is a person really able to save while working there? Thanks for your replies.

Hmmmm.... a broad overview of what its like teaching and living in Korea... Sounds like asking, "How high is up?"

This is an easy question to answer.... READ THE FAQs

http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewforum.php?f=7

It really is all there... if you're gonna spend a year here, it is in your best interest to spend a day or two reading your face off....

If you don't have a day or two to read it all... then do you really have what it takes to spend a year here?

If you have something more specific that you CAN'T find in the FAQs... there are lots of people here who can give you good answers and insights.

It's generally good, but sometimes bad.

Avoiding Wonderland, YBM-ECC, and Ding Ding Dang would be a good start.

You can usually add SLP, SLA, KWAKS English Country, GnB and ELK to that list.
