A letter of release is simply a letter written by your employer that explains why you left your job before the contract finish date. It doesn't have to be on any special paper or form, though letterhead would be good. You just take it with you and submit to the embassy or consulate when applying for your next visa. You may want to keep a couple of copies for re-entry as well.

Then again the boss gave her 2 months notice or if you will 2 paid months to look for work...I would line up a job before leaving asap...but thats just me.

Do you know of anyone who has collected partial severance pay? A number of people have been fired by stingy bosses so they don't have to pay them any.

I know of one teacher who collected pro-rated severance.....their boss fired them...told them that they had to stick around for a month until their replacement arrived Rolling Eyes Laughing so they told their boss that they wanted their severance and salary paid up front or they were leaving.....boss refused...teacher bought plane ticket home....boss caved.....paid for rescheduling flight, severance and months salary in advance....teacher stuck around until replacement arrived...told them what a shytehole the place was to work at....how crooked the boss was and left.....replacement decided they didnt want to work there after all and left as well.....boo hoo for hogwan owner from hell Laughing

I've been told by previous boses that I am too emotional for crying at work, too. I have cried on every job I have ever had. Some people are just more sensitive than others. The world would be a better place if more people could actually cry. It shows you have a heart. Some people are just so cold. You'd have to stick some people in the eye with a pin to get them to cry. One previous boss told me "you are not a baby". You are a teacher.

When a boss fires or refuses to renew an employee for no apparent reason, that's usually because there is a reason, but it's not apparent.

My boss in Kimcheon wouldn't renew my contract, ostensibly for a silly little excuse.
The real reason was that there were two incoming teachers who considered themselves a team, and he didn't have room for all three of us.

My boss in Kumi fired me, ostensibly for a silly little excuse.
The real reason was that she needed someone to work with both kids and adults, and my contract stated that I would not be asked to work with adults.

I didn't have trouble finding a new job in either case.
It seems that directors know how dishonest other directors can be.

I don't know what you mean when you complain. He seems to be correct. You don't fit his idea of what he wants. He can keep you and resent you and make things difficult or he can fire you legally and let you go to another job. He is correct about firing someone when they are not what he wants for his business. Do it quick and with out hassles and get someone he wants.
