brazil? don't believe the hype... the only player i would have is that ronaldinho player (heard of him?!), but i'm making a stand against the brazil gravy train by not picking him... i'm sure he's gutted!

i'm just fed up of brazil this, brazil that, 'ooo i'm from brazil, let me do some keepy ups on the beach,' blah blah blah. i would love it if the nike / brazil hypemachine fell to pieces against the aussies... or especially the japanese! go on zico lad

(disclaimer: ignore all trigger predictions: i was rubbish in the prediction league)

I've gone for players from the teams who should definitely top their groups -namely Brazil, France, Spain and Portugal. After the group stages, it'll all change.

GK: Casillas, Spain

DF: Carvalho, Portugal. Cannavaro, Italy. Thuram, France. Puyol, Spain.

MF: Lampard, England (captain and takes penalties). Ballack, Germany. Deco, Portugal. Kaka, Brazil.

CF: Ronaldo, Brazil. Henry, France.

Subs: Lehmann, Germany. Terry, England. Riquelme, Argentina. Toni, Italy.

I've spent a bit of time on this and am feeling very confident of victory. My team has the totally original name of "Norfolk Enchants".
