...when you get back to your home country? Cubanlord and I are planning our first trip back in about 2.5 years and I can't wait! I'm thinking after all the family formalities I'll hit the cheesecake factory. Have you heard of it? Their menu is literally a book! They've got about 100 kinds of cheesecake. I think I'm gaining weight just thinking about it, but man it's worth it!

I won't be back in Canada for a while, but I'll be visiting the States this summer and I'm totally going straight to either a Mexican restaurant or Fazoli's the minute I get out of the airport...

Why wait?

Tortillas:
3 cups of flour
2 tsps of baking soda
4-6 tbs of softened butter
about 1 cup of water.

mix the dry stuff, then the butter, then the water. roll them up into balls, roll them flat, cook them in the frying pan.

You can find cilantro and Thai non-sticky rice at the foreign food mart near what the book in Itaewon. Throw on some tomatoes, beef/chicken, lettuce, onions, cheese and you're in business! We do it all the time, and to be honest, I don't think I'll ever go back to store-bought tortillas.

Go and sit outside at a nice cafe with trees, clean air, a bright blue sky and no high-rise apartment buildings in sight. Order good, strong coffee and Italian breads, and share a few bottles of really good wine with all the people I miss.

First thing I did was head to the German pub in Tampa, called Mr. Dunderbak's. Good beer, good sandwiches, pleasant ambience... that's all I need.

After my parents pick me up, drive home, walk into my house, nice carpet, nice garden in the back, play with my two dogs, open the fridge, take out some nice rasberry koolaid, call my two best friends, go to the Olive Garden, go to the mall, walk down the mall with no guys asking me dumb questions, no little kids staring at me, no mothers asking me to teach their kids English, just become a normal person again, drive to the beach, blast music loud, date cute guys, why did you post this, I am so homesick now Smile

Presuming that i am not home now, I cannot think of what I would do if I go to the US. The scary thing is, December, maybe January, we are moving there (presuming my hushand's visa comes through)... Dang. How did I let myself get talked into this?

But of course. Tampa FL, across the street from USF is University Mall. They have Mr. Dunderbak's, which is the best bar I've ever been to. You simply have to go.
