I'd like to direct your attention to:
http://www.flowfest.com/
There you'll find all the information for the 2006 Flow Festival! It looks f'n awesome. All weekend long outdoor music festival with camping. The first weekend in June. Good bands and good dj's and music all night. I heard last year was great.
Check the site for all the info you need, including location! (I'm not exactly sure where it is). |

Yeah it was cool last year in a nice green setting in Gangchon which is near Chuncheon about an hour east of Cheongyangni station.
A couple of diff music ares for bands and djs looks like a more impressive line up than last year actually.
And u can sleep in a cool tent village!! |

Nice one for the posting. Sounds wicked. I wish more postings were of this nature ie. telling others about events. |

Looks like a blast...
Are tents the only option for accomodation? I like partying in the sun all day, but at night an A/C hotel room for me and whoever is with me is always nice. |

Whats the deal with the ticket prices. If I buy the weekend pass does that include a tent/tent space? What kind of area is this being held. Does the town have hotels to support the amount of people that are going?
Pumped for UNKLE!! |

Anyone else find it F'N ridiculous that the event is just over 2 weeks away and half of their site is "coming soon"? At least the portion in English? |

YES! You should email them to urge them to get on the ball... I did. [email protected] is the place to write. I'm hoping to get there on Friday night but I work til 8pm Friday, so its gonna be tight. I need to know train schedules and whatnot. |

We went last year for the full 3 days; Reedtea, self & a friend are driving up Sat morn eaaarrrllyyy.
We have a room at one of the pensions just outside the main driveway into Bellagio - it is called Beautihouse. We chose it because it had beds
As for the website, THAT is a HUGE disappointment!!! They basically recycled the site from last year, but did not get around to fleshing out the English side until a week ago.
There are also - as of 2 days ago - soem odd rumors going around about law enforcemet types & whatnot.
I can't really remember any trouble last year, except for a minor firepit/fireworks thing.
See anyone there, there. I'll most likely be in my cowboy hat & a hoody, hangin with the t-tablists.
Regards,
G. |

Personally? My plan was the same as last year - hop in the Prince, take 100 up around to 46, and ride 46 all the way in.
However, there are alternatives. They have a few private bus runs going there, and 1 bus coming back Sunday, as well. Information for that is at the FlowFest site, under one of the tabs (maybe Information, then Travel???).
Yep, I would say the train is the way to go. Somewhere on the site is the best departure & arrival station. Even if you were stuck standing (usually not for the whole ride), you'd still be there in 1 & 1/2 hours, guaranteed, and for about 5000 won.
The only item of note there is that the arrival station in Choon-chun is a short hike over to Bellagio/Fest area. And taxis are in real short supply.
There is a PUBLIC bus terminal at the town, but I don't know the logistics of that one - if anyone REALLY needs train or public bus details, just post after me, and I can put them up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THE RUMORS ARE SPREADING - I am trying to confirm what I can, but a number of my friends/acquaintances are starting to bail out -
Some have immigration concerns, some have visa concerns (that would be the musicians/singers - they aren't allowed to sing for money without an appropriate entertainment visa!!!), and others just don't like the idea of cops/undercover cops/ a sting . . .
Blech!!!!
No one needs that hassle. We just had a friend recently arrested, detained, his house searched, etc. They found/got nothing, and had to release him, but still - what an ordeal . . .
Regards,
~G~ |
I'm taking the train. You get it at Cheongyangni station (get there on line 1)... From the Gangchon station (or Choo-chon as it was called above), there should be a shuttle bus going to/from the festival every 30 minutes. I'm going to leave the rumour mongering aside and look forward to an awesome weekend! |
It's not actually UNKLE is it? Dj Shadow?? it'd better not be cuz I'm not going. I think it's a local dj who uses the moniker UNKLE because I think the real unkle is non-existant at this point. |
