I can't add much about Larry King, except, like Wolf Blitzer, them keeping him around is a complete mystery to me.

If you think CNN International is bad- you should see the home (US) version. All blond, all bimbo, all the time.

H.L. Mencken was right, you'll never go broke underestimating the taste of the American public. Confused

You don't have to watch CNN. BBC news is on Arirang TV in the mornings.

I vaguely remember the BBC being good once upon a time, but, ever since I went back home a couple of years back and switched on the news it just revolts me.

Honestly, does anyone else feel like BBC news is a children's TV programme?

The website is pretty good, however, for a broad overview, not so hot on detail.

The one I hate the most is that skinny annoying British dude who reports from Iraq and says something along the line of: "If you want to understand the insurgency, you have to talk to IRAQI insurgents"... as opposed to...?

Has the BBC gone down hill? That is a real shame. It used to be great. I always liked that "Hard Talk" show. Tim someone, seemed to be a really informed and hard nosed interviewer.

Are you sure about that?

that has to be the least direct answer to any question i've ever heard.

That's King Hussein of Jordan. You're bang on as well.

That struck me in the same way. Doesn't get any more VAGUE than that!

Hmmmmmmm ... where's George Orwell when we need him?

For the record: the CIA and military have for years now infiltrated & sought to control popular electronic media.

They simply DON'T report on it Confused

My vote goes to "The Middle East. You may think you know it but do you really?" Hala Gorani is too grating for TV - Her accent, her jaw bone, the way she jerks her head around. You look so mad all the time. WTF?

I think she's pretty hot. She's a clever little thing as well - fluent in Arabic and French! I absolutely hate that Middle East jingle, however. She looks less hot in that than when she reads the news and it's just annoying as fook generally. My vote went to "we need to focus on the small details in order to appreciate the broader perspective". Trite, rhetorical, cliched and inane.

I always liked that Kristie Lu Stout. I can watch her give the news without getting sick.

Ironic you should say this. Personally, her tele-screen / prompter reading "skills" make me nauseous.

As does her cutesy little "voice like honey" act

On the bright side mind you, at least she doesn't much stumble over the sanitized & carefully scripted lines they give her.

Corporate eye-candy.

Yeah, but I wouldn't mind having her in my apartment for an in-depth discussion of world affairs... Cool

Best source of news is the online Canadian operation, Naked News. Definitely sans Larry King.
