come on this is nothing, yeah it was 32C in Seoul yesterday but there was no humidity and it wasn't that bad and I spent the day moving.

Heck I was thinking about getting my a/c hooked up yesterday but they wanted 300k to do it so I'm just going to buy fans, besides I'll be gone all summer. so it'll be a waste of money this summer

i rarely use AC. If its' truly hot, before bed I will take a cold shower, stay wet, and dry off under a fan. by the time i'm dry, I usually need a cover cause i'm cold....

We got AC at home, but we hardly use it anymore. We don't spend the summers in Korea anymore because we have a kid who wants to see grandpa and grandma, and a home waiting for us by the beach. I'll be sitting on my patio with a breeze blowing in from the sea in 2 weeks or so. If it gets too hot, I'll go to the liquor store. They keep their beer in huge refrigerated rooms. Very Happy

Baby powder keeps your balls from getting all sweaty and inevitably sticking to your leg.

Shocked

I really don't know why I even look at threads where the last post is listed as yours.

Where are all of you from? This is far from hot. I am glad for the change considering that when I left home a couple of weeks ago that it was 96 degrees and 100% humidity already. Bring it on August and September!

Just be careful with those fans. The Korean models are the most dangerous in the world.

Korea can't afford to lose foreign English teachers to the dreaded fan death!

Man, I'm from Darwin, Northern Territory in Australia, which for those of you who don't know, is located exactly five blocks from the sun. I'm still wearing jeans and a long sleeve shirt to work!

Yeah bunch of sissies. No problem with the heat, it's only a problem when the damn monsoon kicks in and the humidity climbs.

Heat is no problem.

I just keep the windows open and plug in my funky USB fan.

The heat in Korea doesn't even faze me. I used to teach 35 Thai children in a class with only fans and open windows. Not sure which was worse, the hot, humid days when I would be soaked from head to toe from the moment I opened my apartment door, or trying to teach through a thunder/rain storm as the fans are blowing my lesson plans, books etc out the friggin window! Confused

There when a kid told you his homework blew away you had to believe him. Smile

Not to mention the kids freaking out at the loud clashes of thunder. All the while it was still insanely hot.

After about a year I actually aclimatized somewhat. I remember heading to work at 6AM and having to beg the taxi driver to turn the AC of as I was shivering. And my first apartment only had a cold shower...anything but pleasant at 5 in the morning...

So with my high schoolers begging me to put on the AC I just respond, "Wait till at least the middle of June." But I conceeded last week to avoid mutiny. Wink

So for me, Korean summers are really not bad. I much prefer the sweltering heat than those bastardly cold winters! So I try not to complain about the heat....just wish summer was a little longer.
