I'm an American, so let's get that straight before I criticize the US's policies....
Since the US and Russia and China and other countries have stockpiles of nuclear weapons, I don't understand why we have the right to demand that other countries stop trying to produce them......Why don't any countries ever argue about that publicly? Why don't countries just say, "You've got them, so until you destroy all of yours, then shut the *beep* up!" |

Yeah, maybe you should repost this to the "Naive questions" forum. On second thought, do we have a "Flame-bait" forum? |

Yeah. Both areas are handled over in the Current Events forum. |

Nah, honestly it's not flame-bait or naive....I understand why the US wants to say "We can have them but no one else can", and I'm sure the newspapers in various have-not countries probably mention it in their editorials, but I don't see why Iran just doesn't use that as their base argument...To say, "We're going to go to war because we won't let anyone else have what we have" seems to be fallacious enough that it would give others room for debate. |

So your argument is that Iran (or North Korea for that matter) should have nuclear weaponry? |

The Iranian government saying it wants Israel wiped off the map and openly hates America - and being generally hostile and clearly a very inappropriate place for nuclear weapons to exist - might have something to do with it, you feel. |
