anybody else as disappointed as I was with the finale of this part of the final season? I kept waiting for something big to happen but nothing did.

It started out so promising with Tony getting shot by Junior but man did it lose steam fast.

Where did the writers learn to write a finale from, the writers of Seinfeld?

Hope the remaining 8 eps are decent

April 8. 9PM US time.

The first of the last 8 episodes. I'm psyched, but hope it won't suck like the second half of season 6.

Actually, I thought the first 3 episodes of the latest season were absolute crap.

They got back to basics somewhat, but I think most hardcore fans would admit that the the show has gone from strength to weakness since season 3.

Wow, what absolute crap. It's turned into awful actors being featured (Bobby, just a terrible, spiritless actor), and 35 minutes where the central action is a game of monopoly? You've gotta be kidding me.

What happened to "The Sopranos" is an old story in any kind of medium: start out great, get too full of yourself and self-indulgent and wind up alienating a lot of fans. Having said that, I can still honestly say I've enjoyed every season and even now it's better than 99.9% of anything else on TV.

Really? Did you see yesterday's episode? I'm only watching the next 7 because I've got 6 seasons (about 10 years) invested in this thing. But if it wasn't for that past attachment, no way do I stand the awful acting that is Bobby & his wife (Tony's sister). Just awful, awful, awful.

It's so transparent too, obviously the drummer that Bobby shot tore a piece of his shirt will be "CSI'ed"--not to mention the gun, Bobby will get nailed for the hit, and bring the house down by testifying against Tony. End of Show. Yawn.

10 Million Fans Killed Off In Sopranos Season Premiere

NEW YORKThe writers of the HBO series The Sopranos took another daring storytelling step by killing off 10 million fans during the seventh season's premiere episode Sunday night.

"This was definitely a bold choice, one that producers of the show would have never thought of making five years ago," said New York Times television critic Virginia Heffernan, who noted that the move was hinted at in a season-five episode in which Tony dreamt he was riding a horse through his house. "But now that I look back, this was strongly foreshadowed throughout all of last season."

Industry insiders predicted that the show's producers would try to bring at least some fans back for the series finale, which may come as early as May.

Yep. That's probably what will happen. The first episode was complete crap -hopefully it will get better, but I'm not optimistic.

All we can do at this point is hope for some of these guys to go out Tony Montana style. I'd fogive David Chase if he gave some of these characters spectacular deaths.

I respectfully disagree with the notion that the actor who plays Bobby is bad at his job. I saw him shlepping around shilling some crap cookbook ("How to Cook Like a Lardy Pseudomob Wanna-be Toughguy," I think it was called) and he came across as a brash, obnoxious jerk. Meanwhile, in the show, he is limp, insipid, pathetic on so many different levels, and an all-out tool, as you said.
Now that's ACTING!!
You're probably right about him ratting out Tony...but will he get away with it? I doubt it.
Then again, going into witness protection with Janice would be a fate worth than death, as well...I dunno, maybe that's how they'll end it. Undignified, disturbing, cruel, and realistic, just like the rest of the show has always been.
