As one might surmise from the amoung of posting I am doing today, I am in that stage of not exactly hung-over-ness but very can't-be-bothered-to-do-jack-ness and I am facing a dilemma.

==========

My TV interests include:

Good TV

The Office(both)
Arrested Development
Blackadder
Fawlty Towers
Band of Brothers
Trailer Park Boys
South Park
Most Star Trekkie things
Some of Battlestar Galactica
(just 33 really)
The Daily Show
The West Wing
Goodness Gracious Me
The Young Ones
SNL
Little Davey Letterman

etc.

==========

Perhaps you can see the fix I'm in. Most of these shows are either discontinued or out of season. (Why for the love of Sejong was TPB only six episodes this year? That is just not cool.)

So: help a brother out and tell me what I should be watching.

Ah...shows I detest:

==========

Bad TV

Most everything on American TV but some particulars...
CSI(Any of them: NYC, Miami, Lima--what the f ever.)
24
Sex and the City
Lost
Friends
The OC
Scrubs
Grey's Anatomy
House

and any fucking reality TV show

In advance, much obliged.

Rome is good.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is excellent. Really, really funny and a little 'different'.

What's going on with the Daily Show these days? How long are they planning to be on vacation?

Big Love
- another fine HBO series - just finished its first season. You might be able to DL that as a package.

I like Curb Your Enthusiasm, too, but I've recommended it to friends and they all come back unhappy with it. Personal taste, eh?

Glad to see I'm not the only one who can't stomach Sex and the City.

And yes, the most recent season of the Sopranos was a waste of time.

Hey! What's wrong with House? I love that show. Sure, it's pretty much the same scenario every episode (detective work to find out what's wrong with this week's patient), but Hugh Laurie is great. One of the best characters on TV, IMO.

Entourage is one of the funniest shows I've seen in awhile--2 seasons so far, third is coming out this month I think.

I just can't believe that anyone under the age of 60 actually watches West Wing. Shocked Maybe you want to check out Murder She Wrote. Wink

Scrubs is great. Gotta love "The Todd"

Chris Rock's childhood, "Everybody Hates Chris" is funny.

Based on your list of preferences I think you'll really like
Jason Lee in "My Name is Earl".
I recommend starting with the episode guest starring Jon Favreau: "Karma, Where Art Thou?"

If you like the UK Office, you'll probably like Ricky Gervais' new show "Extras".

And "Yes, Minister" and "Yes Prime Minister" are out there in PtP land (I've been downloading them myself these days).

And even if you don't like SCi-Fi, you have to check out the 'new' "Battlestar Galactica", and here's why:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20060605.BATTLESTAR05/TPStory/Entertainment

And if you DO like SF, then you have to check out Joss Wheadon's "Firefly". Only 3 or 4 episodes were shown before it was cancelled, but the entire first (and last) season is out there on PtP along with last summer's movie based on the show: "Serenity"

Oz (I've watched the entire series twice, love it.) Embarassed

Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Squidbillies.

Ultimate Fighter (season 1 is excellent, 2 is good also. 3 is okay, but taking away the challenges makes the episodes a little draggy).

Curb Your Enthusiasm's season 5 was it's best to date IMO.

The Shield is alright too.

Carnivale rocked. However, DO NOT watch it if you hate getting stuck with a cliff hanger that will never be resolved! They canceled the show after the last (and best) episode-the 2nd season finale! Killer episode, couldn't wait for the next season, then BOOM canceled!

Clancy Brown is one of my favorite actors.

BBC's Hustle is a lot of fun. Funny thing is, it is on AMC (American Movie Classics-it's not American, it's not a movie, and as much as I like it, it is too new to be a classic!) They tried to make an American version-I didn't even give it a look.

If you like Family Guy, might as well try out American Dad. Another show that's great to download is King of the Hill.

Following on the Aqua Teen Hunger Force recommendation, try out Sealab 2021 and Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law.

One show I haven't seen posted on here is Penn & Teller's Bullshiat. They tear into a different theme every episode, like Creationism, diet fads, numbers, and soon they're going to do abstinence-only education.

I've been downloading Louis Theroux' Weird Weekends. He goes and immerses himself in a weird subculture, like American survivalists, Thai bride-shoppers, or Texan Born-Again Christians. It's a pretty fair look at them and it's awesome.

Oh yeah, if you can handle science fiction, try out the new Battlestar Galactica and the new Doctor Who. Both of them owe their success to online file-sharing.
