I am in contact with a travel agent who has set me up with a visa on arrival in Saigon.. Everything seems kosher at that end, I just fear a hassle at the Incheon airport with my airline (Eva) or passport control. Should I worry? |

Unless things have changed in the last few months, most nationals of western countries require a Visa BEFORE they leave. Your travel agent may be confused, especially if he or she is not used to foreigners. Koreans and nationals of most Asian countries can enter Visa free. Some countries can get Visas on arrival. BUT Canadians, Ameicans British etc need one first...
Make sure...
Good luck, |

Yup... time to worry - contact the vietnamese embassy in Seoul.
Seoul: 33-1 Hannam-dong, Yong san-k
Phone 02-794-3570,
Fax 02-793-1009

allow me to quote
"A valid passport and a visa are required of all foreigners visiting Vietnam. With very few exceptions, there is no such thing as a "visa on arrival." Visas are issued by Vietnamese embassies and consulates. Some overseas offices of Vietnamtourism are able to issue tourist visas.
Tourist visas are good for thirty days and may be extended after your arrival in Vietnam. Fees vary from embassy to embassy; about $50 in Bangkok and $85 in Washington, for example. A double entry visa is also available for tourists making side trips from Vietnam to destinations in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos."
The visa form is here: http://www.vietnamonline.com/travel/visa_app.gif
The cost varies depending on your country of citizenship. I think (but may be wrong) that it is USD$50 for Canadians, Brits and Aussies. $85 for Americans. Don't know about those from NZ.
Koreans get a visa waiver for 15 days - see bottom of this post.
