At home they would be called a "Headhunter".

They are like every other recruiter in Korea. They introduce you to a school. They get paid. They walk away and look for the next foreigner. They get paid by the school to find a warm (hopefully qualified) body to fill a position. They are NOT paid to help you. They are paid to help the school.

They are not your babysitter. They cannot help you if you have problems with your employer. They cannot fix your contract after the fact. They cannot force the school to even honor the contract.

If you are lucky they will pick you up at the airport and take you to your school or house and introduce you to your new boss. If you are not lucky, then you will catch a bus to your new school and hope for the best.

Not quite. They place you in bad schools and then actively co-operate with the schools in keeping you there. If you want to leave the school will call them and they will call you and threaten that you will never be able to work in Korea again. This happened to two friends of mine. RUN away don't walk.
