When I left Korea two years ago, after fulfilling my contract, I left Incheon airport with my A.R.C. in my pocket. While I sit here in the states looking for another job in the R.O.K. i have this feeling that the A.R.C. that is sitting here in my dresser drawer will hinder my getting a visa as it will seem to those vastly intelligant souls at Korean immigration that I never left the country.
Simple quetion, will it?

I left with my ARC and had no trouble getting a new visa.

Don't they ask you for your ARC at immigration when you leave the country? I was under the impression that I wasn't leaving unless I turned in my card. I couldn't think of a good reason to try to keep it.

Yep...they are going to hunt you down like a dog for not turning in your ARC.

No problems. You'll get a VISA like that. "snaps fingers"

That's what I had heard, but they didn't ask for it when I left about a month ago. They didn't even want to see it. There was a sign taped to the immigration stand in the airport that said they no longer take cards from foreigners. I'm not sure what that was all about. There was no line, and I was cutting it a little close on time, so I didn't stand there and read it.
