I have a fellow English teacher who will be leaving the country for 60 days in the next few months. After which time he'll be returning and completing the rest of his contract.

The re-entry visa's only last for 45 days (the one's from the airport anyway) so what's the deal with anything longer? I think having to reapply for a work visa sounds a little too extreme. Surely there must be a way to get a re-entry visa longer then 45 days?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

At the airport, you just need to tell them that you plan on re-entering after the 45 days is up. Tell them the expected date of return, and as long as the re-entry is before the date the visa expires, they will make it a few days after that.

I did this last December, they had no problem with it at all, gave me a re-entry stamp that was good until mid-March, about 90 days.
