Yes, I admit...I do feel ecstatic when Korea's puny soccer team loses. I love how they hype anyone up that puts on the jersey, inflate them so that they appear to know exactly what football is, and then blame the Euro coach because Koreans simply can't lead their own people. After all, you can't blame a Korean coach...don't want to take the chance..gotta have the token foreigner to blame.
But it really feels good when Korea loses. Bar none. To see their rantings die down and their arrogance stomped...priceless. Similar to when teams like the Cowboys and Steelers lose...just to know that their arrogant fans are pissing and moaning and crying...priceless.
Anyone else love it when the "red devils" get their butts handed to them...  Go Togo, France and Switzerland... |

I don't know, but how they hell did Korea come in the top 4 in the last one? I don't remember much of that one. I do, however, remember a bit of the 98 one and wondered how France won. Home team bs?
I just watched Germany-Costa Rica. Looked much better than the Korean team I've been watching, but who knows?
Isn't Japan a better soccer country than Korea?
I'd even venture to say that Canada could be better than Korea. |

I miss many foods. I miss the 4-cheese and Mexican style Red Baron's pizzas. Had them every week for 6 months before I came to Korea and I truly miss them. You can actually acquire a fair deal of imports in Korea, so it is tolerable. I got some Tostitos Salsa Con Queso last week and I was stoked. Doritos, Pop Tarts, Cinnamon Toast Crunch...you can get that here. I just miss the pizzas the most.
But absence does make the heart grow fonder and I will have one helluva feast when my contract is finished and I head back home.  |

Actually, last time Korea and Canada played was in the Gold Cup Bronze Medal game in 2002 and Canada won 2-0. Hahahaha, they lost to Canada.  |

I think you could put Korea's success down to few different things.
One of the biggest reasons, I think anyway, is that a lot of the so called top sides are full of prima donnas and they were too complacent in 2002.
Another reason was the home advantage. Generally I don't think Koreans travel well. And of course their supporters lifted them.
Hiddink also seems to have the ability to develop sides. He's helped take Aust. to their first WC in about 32 years. This also relates to what I've seen in local parks etc. The ball skills of the Koreans that I've seen have been pretty bad. I know they're just average people, but if you go anywhere around the world, say in Britain, kids seem to have a better natural ability.
Just my 2 cents worth. |

An adult student told me that Korea also had free use of the stadium for practice while all the other countries were restricted to certain times. Also, they watered down the field to their liking giving it better conditions to suit their play. |

Oh, that's bad, that's really, really bad.
That being said, can I confess? I'm addicted to Buzz's song, Reds go together. I catch myself singing along to it even though I don't know most of the words.
I also like the red devils T-shirts, the ones with the devil of course. I want one. |

You can't blame em. Sure they need to learn some things about soccer and learn some things about sportsmanship, but being american you couldn't possibly understand the frustration of always coming up short on the world stage.
And who says amreican fans aren't just as arrogant? I mean c'mon, chanting USA, over and over again to make your steroid packed athletes feel like they've earned something?
All your posts reek of an intense dislike for anything korean, and you seem to be having a piss poor time here. Too bad you let it get to you so much. Try to get to the Hannam market, have a pop tart, and dream of home. |

| Those 'Red' t-shirts have gone on sale at my local Family Mart and they're flying off the shelves. That in itself is a good thing, because they'll replace, at least temporarily, the pink shirts that have been the fashion for these K-girly-men this season. |
