Another person who reads into things and adds more to them than they really are. I never said that all, so please don't put words in my mouth. Stick to using the quote button if you're having a hard time with this. I accept that you may be using sarcasm for humorous effect but it seems that we've passed that point in this little debate and I no longer find it appropriate.

He may have had good intentions, but I dislike having someone contradict me after I honestly express myself and accuse me of playing headgames. That was incredibly rude and I never would have done that another person. Not only rude, but judgemental. And arrogant. I know that he may not have meant it to be. Unfortunately people are often rude without realising it. But I should have a right to defend myself and say that it was inappropriate. What was said could have been worded in a better way, and Kermo your gentle personality just wasn't coming out to me as a new member of this forum. It's amazing that I've apologized mulitiple times in this thread when I was not trying to be rude at all but that nobody else can do the same. So sad.

I've seen a bunch of your posts and you seem nice enough, so I would recommend chilling. Spin is an aggressive northerner and Kermo is a sweetie with quirky taste in headgear. Chill.

If not, I curse you to a thousand years of posting with your only partners being Tarheel13, Patchy and Rteacher.

Did I say Spin was not a nice person? If you guys would stop being so defensive all the time, you might not have such a trollish forum. It's interesting that you say you've seen a bunch of my posts and that I seem nice but people still assumed the worst from me on this thread. I consider that indicative of a problem with this forum and not me. So don't worry about me chilling because I'm not responding to any more threads here.

Unlike some people here, I actually have a life offline and more interesting things to do than waste my time in pointless debates. This whole argument was a time and energy sucker with no payoff.

FWIW, this is an exceedingly typical thread here at DESLC, in that it starts with a topic which survives for @ 1 pg. then goes off on a tan about how people posted w/in the thread. IMHO, this exemplifies the very worst the www has to offer.

No, this was not posted to be funny.

I find nothing bewildering or scarey about what Veronica wrote. I found her humour easy to ascertain, and her position is quite clear. She is, in fact, to me, a breath a fresh air in this joint...

Take a moment, lower the angle of your nose a little, take a couple of steps back, a few deep breaths, and ponder how much of an utter git you sound like here...

Okay, now that Veronica has left Dave's and gone on to live the life of a goat in Nepal, I wanna get back to the original topic of this thread. Are there any serious "two cents"-addicts out there who are feeling the effects of not being allowed to say their beloved phrase? It seems harsh me banning it completely, but a few years of reading message boards and reading people's two cents has made me totally flip! All this time it's been an issue waiting to explode, but I've finally had it now. We need to ban unnecessary language. It's ultimately a waste of electricity. Think of all oil that's been burnt because people write "just my two cents" constantly and therefore type for longer. These people are PARASITES! Unnecessary adverbs may be next....people who say "I'm hugely inspired" or "it's highly annoying".

Well, so if it's a matter of the boring repitition of it all, are variations permitted? Like:

my two just cents

annoyingly high

inspiredly huge

I know adverbs have an ... awfully bad rep, and that they're the worst fault of cheesy writing, but it's not as though they don't serve some purpose. How are we to express degrees of annoying-ness? "Annoying to a great degree?" "Very annoying?" (maybe this one wins on the grounds of being the quickest way, but it's on the dull side) "So annoying I wanted to cut my head off?" I'm going to vote for judicious use of adverbs, and the test for their use can be when using one avoids the silliness we find when we refuse to use them at all because some English teacher once told us not to use them. Agreed? No?

*slinking annoying not high back to his cave*
