I downloaded a couple torrents from bitmetv and neither of them plays. I checked out the properties of the file but it says that is is only 21000 bytes. The actual size of the file (sopranos season 6) is much larger. Did the playable file go somewhere else on my computer? If so, I can't seem to locate it. When I click on the file icon on my desktop it asks me which program I want to use to open it with, I select windows media player but it won't play. I know that it is a good torrent I'm just wondering if I need another program or something to launch it. Any thoughts?

The file that you downloaded is a torrent file. You require a bittorrent client to utilize the information contained within the torrent file. I personally use bit tornado but there are several other clients available. If you decide to go with bit tornado you can find it here: http://bittornado.com/

Download and install the client. Double click on the torrent file that you previously downloaded and it should offer to open it with bittornado. Accept and then choose a file location. When you're finished it will show a small client window with download info. Minimize to the system tray and when the little BT sign turns white (from grey) your download is complete.

This is just the basics but should get you going.

Cheers

PS: Look for bittorrent tutorials online...there are tons of good ones to get you started

Did you unpack the files you downloaded? They are either RAR files or maybe zip ones. Use WinRAR or ALZip or sth like that to unpack the files then you'll be good. I think.
