| if severance after 11 months is actually in writing in your contract, then they are obligated to pay it. It would then likely have to be considered an incentive clause, not severance. But if they simply told you you were eligible after 11 months, they lied. |

This could be an interesting situation. My contract was altered from the standard to reflect the 11 month duration, but only in the initial "Term of Contract".
Flight ticket reimbursement and severance both state "... at the end of the contractual period (1 year)."
So it appears if they want to shaft me, they just may be able to? The contract has doublespeak built into it, lucky me. |

Then end it there. Get your cash and run. Don't respond to threats and black mail. You have to go to university. That's it, that's all. |

This is true of the first year, but subsequent years do come with prorated severance if you leave early for any reason. |
