| It's hard to believe no German food will be available for a month. Are ALL the German restaurants shutting down for a month just because McDonald's and Budweiser are sponsors? If so, no wonder the Germans are complaining!!! |

I hate second-hand noise of any sort, andi this soccer noise is just too much. Even yesterday at the movies I had to endure Taehanmingook chants in the previews etc. before the movie.
I hope they go home tomorrow if, for no other reasaon, to get a respite from the obnoxious noise. |
Sounds to me like indoctrination. |

German food? Where? McDonald's is the official food sponsor for the world cup and budweiser is the official beer sponsor. If anyone is upset with the food and beer selection it would be the Germans. |
Well, aren't hamburgers German? 
Budweiser as the offical beer sponsor certainly is a slap in the face to Germans. |

I think when Stephen Jesse Bernstein wrote "More Noise Please", he must have been living in Seoul.
I think the whole noise pollution thing is just a deeply ingrained part of Korean culture, perhaps the loudspeaker and blaring music wierdness is some leftover from communist leaning propoganda that exisited during the military totalitarian period of Korea. Sometimes I'm not sure whether I'm in South or North Korea...such is the bombardment of loudspeakers or public announcement units posted in many of the apartment block-style housings.
Maybe Koreans might be better off if they weren't always so oblivious to one another. |
