Hi,

I use a local PC place to get online, last night the guy tried to charge me 9,000 won for one hour and twenty minutes ( I refused and gave him 1500). Tonight I got charged 1000 for twenty minutes, Last week 1,400 for one hour.

Can anyone advise on what a typical hourly rate is? is this typical Korean behaviour = doing the dumb foreigner?

Thanks..

I never paid more than 1.5 per hour. Sometimes a one hour minimum charge applies.

9000 for 80 minutes sounds like an adult PC bang price. They have porn preloaded onto the computer. Even if you don't use it, you still have to pay the same rate. Their outdoor advertising often looks just the same as a regular PC bang, except when you go in there, you'll have private booths, as opposed to open PCs. I've never seen a hybrid PC/Adult PC bang with both kinds of set-ups in one place, but maybe this outfit has adult PCs on one side and the regular ones on the other, which could explain why you've paid two different rates before.
