|
|
Just so you Canuckleheads know, eh, our beloved Oilers put forth, in this New Englander's opinion, a much, much better effort in their victory over the Carolina Hurricanes than in any of their other contests against the Yankee-laden 'Canes.
Our Oilers were all over the puck, made their checks, and played well in both zones.
Go Oilers!

What a game! Non stop action, 53 shots, 7 goals, the last one in OT. And my wife wonders why I'm not interested in the World Cup. |

Our opinion that Ice Hockey is a more exciting game than Football is not a radical one. It sucks, though, that so many people do not seem to take the time needed to understand the best game ever.
In New England, at least-uh, nearly everybody knows how to play the game - even if many of them can not skate worth a darn.
Keep on, keepin' on, Dude.

highlights coming on nhl.com ....
in the meant time....I NEED TO KNOW HOW ITLOOKED!
I don't want to hear that carolina played like crap but they played really well! But edmonton beat them. THAT'S what i want to hear.
oilers have been through SO much crap these playoffs and still persevered. Unless you are a diehard cane's fan, you'd be a tit to not root for hte oilers.[/url] |

Well I'm no tit so I must be diehard canes fan.
I will say that the Canes played really well tonight and that the Oilers played better. I think that's the battle report you were hoping for. It was a heck of a game. I think both teams were as fired up as they've been in the series. It's going to get good going down the stretch... |

Best game ever? HOCKEY?! Thats absurd. Hockey has all the subtelty of rambo movies. Basically, its easy to digest and perfect for people with no attention span. |

Whats this? A fake, platic team created out of thin air with no roots or tradition might win a title in a North American league? Who would have guessed? |

Not good enough, man. They've gotta at LEAST have a rich heritage dating back as long as futbol, when ancient teams booted balls of sun-dried clay into horse hair-woven nets, wearing jerseys emblazened with cuneiform. |

Your a piece of work Jinju, again you blab out of your a**.
In 1972 they joined the WHL as the New England Whalers, later changed to Hartford and played in that league until they along with Winnipeg, Quebec and Edmonton joined the nhl in 1979. In 1997 they relocated to the present site in Carolina.
I ask you this.
Is 34 plus years of professional hockey history being "picked out of thin air" as you so eloquently put it?
Your not the sharpest tool in the shed are you?
Furthermore, there are many roots and traditions in the organization. Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe played a huge role in the development of the franchise, one of the greatest players of all time. Along with Howe in the Hall of Fame are Dave Keon, Paul Coffey(briefly then Edmonton) and probable future hall of famers Ron Francis, Brendan Shannahan and Chris Pronger. Kevin Dineen and Pat Verbeek also had great careers with them but not likely Hall candidates. It seems to me you may be 1 or 2 beers shy of a six pack.
Dont fly off the handle and criticize peoples posts when you know next to nothing about them or the subject in question.

First off, jinju is an idiot - he should be put on ignore if there were such a funtion.
Most Canes impact players are Canadian, (game 5 lineup - Car. 11 Cnds, Edm. 13 Cnds)
Hockey is an expensive sport. If somehow the cost to play hockey and soccer was equal, soccer would finish a DISTANCE 2nd. Soccer is popular worldwide because it is cheap and almost anyone can play. |
