So we all know that Koreans think blood type can determine personality. I found an article about it on Wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_blood_type_theory_of_personality
Not surprisingly, the belief comes from Japan. But before that, it was used by the Nazis to make whites seem superior to Asians and Jews. I'm going to be looking around for some more proof about this. Hilarious.

The discovery of blood types in 1901 has been hailed as one of the greatest advances in medical history, but the breakthrough was then used by the Nazis to further their eugenics program, and claim the superiority of Germans -- mostly types A and O -- over Jews, Asians and others with a larger proportion of type B blood.
The theory reached Japan in a 1927 psychologist's report, and the militarist government of the time commissioned a study aimed at breeding better soldiers. The craze faded in the 1930s as its unscientific basis became evident. However, it was revived in the 1970s with a book by Masahiko Nomi, an advocate and broadcaster with no medical background.

It's no more ridiculous than thinking the day and month you were born on has anything to do with your personality though... |

I in absolutely no way disagree with you, although Hitler never used the Zodiac to oppress the Jews. |

I read a book by Dr. Tomothy Leary. Said that when you are conceived, the position of the earth realative to the sun leaves a solar imprint on your zygote. The rough 12 positions of the elliptical orbit correspond to 12 different personality tpes.
Makes as much sense as any of the religious horse pucky people feed themslves every sturaday or sunday, anyways. |

Don't forget that he might have been stoned when he wrote that. |

I have tried to convince my wife that personality and blood type have nothing to do with each other.
Personally, I think it's rediculous. |

Personality type is based on whether you drink Pepsi (The choice of the new generation) or Coke (The real thing). Of course, if you drink neither of them, that means you have no personality or have become a boring ajuma or ajoshi.
Now in Korea there's also Coke Zero for generation zero, the hippest generation in Korea.
That's it. It's simple really. Tell your students this. |

I never knew the nazi connection. I wonder if that's why Koreans generally think B is a bad blood type for men (like in that movie B형남자친구) |

Just tell them the facts:
Chimpanzees are blood type A
Gorillas are blood type B
in 99% of the cases
It makes some laugh, others look troubled. |

To further confuse them, tell them that chimpanzees can ride mopeds, bicycles, and horses and gorillas can do sign language. |

Don't forget to bring up the fact that some chimpanzees have begun to explore the wonderful world of tobacco products. |

Right. And alcohol, too.
There's new research that claims that human ancestors bred with chimps' ancestors after the two lines branched out. Turns out we really are cousins. |
