Azureus, BitComet, Limewire, Kazaa, Kazaa lite, Bit Torrent, Ares, eDonkey, eMule, Share Bear, Shareaza, DC++, Morpheus, Winmx, am I missing any? What else is out there that is viable. And what is the best?

I have tried all of the above, found I get the largest search results with eMule, fastest download with Limewire...

eDonkey gets me what I need, usually in a reasonable time. I'm sure it's a piece of crap compared to others out there, but in all honesty I don't download the way I used to... the odd tv show a few songs every once in a while.

Good place for laearnng more about p2p networks, file-sharing news and info: http://www.slyck.com/

You can discuss p2p to your hearts content...

Personally, I prefer torrents rather than ed2k/gnutella/fastrack type networks. I'm surprised you missed out uTorrent... It's a major player in the bit torrent world, Azureus and Bitcomet being the other two.

If you hunt around the 5 or so major indexing public sites/trackers you'll probably find what you are looking for and download at a pretty miserable pace... in the 5kB/s - 30kB/s range.

The key to getting the full benefit out of torrents is knowing how to make a smart search (google works well when you're running out of ideas) and belonging to a good 0day private tracker or two where you can get the new stuff at blazing speeds.

When dealing with Bit Torrent, the clients like ABC, Azureus, uTorrent, etc., are more or less the same thing. I use Azureus. I recommend that you use some of the larger Torrent sites like http://www.isohunt.com or http://www.mininova.org . I find the former to be especially good. Download speeds will depend on (a) how many people have the file (b) where said people are located (c) the speed of your internet connection / computer and (d) sheer luck.

dont even bother with public sites, private sites are the way to go.. though only up to date clients (and no bit comet). Cool

Best site on the net and down speeds are lightning.. min 300 - 500 kb/s stable.

Its a private site, but right now they are accepting new users. The site works on ratio.. if you leech more than u share then you will get banned. You must have a ratio of 0.800 in order to download 0 day movies/games/apps/warez.. ect..

Enjoy!!

Private FTPs... everything you need 0-Day / 0-Sec... 500KB/s DL, every file from start to finish

Torrents are cool for mainstream files or certain older things that aren't currently in the FTPs Archive. As soon as you get into the Kazaa world for downloading then you lose all the quality control.

Only other thing I've used in the listing iis Limewire for one or two specific songs.

Not even close.. bitmetv and scenetorrents are better, plus they dont make you start off in the hole like torrentleech does.
