| I know this has prob been answered before but what is the actual date I need to leave by? Do I have extra days past my ARC expiry? |

I hope that was truly meant in jest.... If you honestly believe that then you are going to get into trouble when you leave here.
You must leave Korea no later than midnight on the last day marked on your ARC. If you have not cleared through passport control by that time you will be in an overstay position and subject to fines and penalties.
The paper that is in your passport is nothing more than your entry visa and authorization to begin work. Once you are registered (have your ARC), it is meaningless.
Your ARC and any amendments to it are your authorization to stay in the country beyond 90 days.
If you need an extension beyond the final date on your ARC, simply make a trip to the immigration office within 30 days of your expiry and get the extension. Short extensions (to close your affairs here or for tourism) after your contract is finished are free. Simply show your airticket out of the country and they will extend you until your departure date.
Contractual extensions cost 30,000 won and can be from 2 weeks up to 1 year.
Either way, they will amend your ARC to show the new departure date.

I really didn't know that! Although having just checked, my ARC expires on the same date as my E2 visa.... |

I've got another question about the ARC. (I searched around, didn't find it)
I left Korea earlier than when my visa and ARC expired expecting to be back again. Well, I didn't come back so I didn't turn in my ARC.
A few months later....
Now I'm back in Korea on another visa (changed from E2 to E7). Had no trouble getting in, they didn't check for my old ARC or anything. Didn't say anything about the old visa either.
So the old ARC is expired. Do I need to bring it with me when I get a new ARC, or should it be 'missing'?
Will my missing ARC and not having provided a letter of release cause any problems when I go to immi for the new one? |

Unless you are currently under an un-expired visa then you will have no problems.
Just leave your old ARC at home as a souvenir.
If your old ARC and visa are expired, then you do not need a LOR to obtain a NEW visa.
You will have to obtain your new visa from OUTSIDE the country (read visa run if you were in Korea when you got your visa confirmation number.). |
